Exposé "Two modern Heroes"
something about the german
Newspaper-Article from the 31.12.77,
found in an old suitcase

_ _______________________________________

the article says, that "Under the operative name
Private Madness, Public Danger
there was an investigation from "the english special unit CI5 against the scientist S...." The methods of the two civil servants B. and D. , who ...caught S. in the end where "policeintern sharply critisized"

The article quotes under the headline
Cowboys in London
a high police-officer, who is obviously very aghast about the two policemen, who were seen to shoot on tin-boxes like "...cowboys..." The high police-officer thinks, that this is not necessary for shoot-training, and that this is not America. "But", he says, "it is well known that the lads from the CI5 have  fools licence." He is also upset about the way, especially D. looks like: "Unshaved, T-Shirt, Jeans, long hair. Looks like a junkie from the street."

(Well, well. I cannot help but feel, that this policeman is a typical representative of the "older" generation, who thinks, that long hair is always suspicious. And how we did fight them! Remember the "trust nobody over 30"? I think, I still don't trust them...)

This seemed to have captured the interest of the (female) journalist, because than she tells about a reporter in London, who wants to learn more about these two unconventional policemen. Under the headline

In the Pub
this reporter tries to get an statement from the "Chief of the unit, C...." but has no success But finally, he locates B. and D. in the "Chop and Ingot", concludes with the help of intelligent questions, that he found the right Boys, who describe their job as "being civil servants..."

Modern heroes
first comes now a description of the two: "Both are young, perhaps end of 20, well trained..."
They wear "obviously" shoulderholsters. The reporter asks then, if they ever had to use their weapons. B. is "laughing happily", D. looks for the split of a second "...tragic..." but " ...laughes then especially dirty..." Both get suddenly earnest.

B. then says, that "they just do what is necessary... today criminals are often so heavily armed, that you only can fight them with the same means" Is their work very dangerous?   "Yes of course..." B. says with a gleam in his dark eyes.

Payment? There comes a sneer from both. Dangerous work, bad payment. The reporter seeks for an answer, why then, they are doing it? D. says sarcastically, that they are perhaps simply modern heroes, who endure impossible adventures on the seek for anything. B. is of the same mind and says, that he nows what he is looking for. He then with an "angelic" smile talks again with the longhaired beauty behind the bar... asks her actually for her adress....
