"The Professionals" had a worldwide success. So Fans come from places as far away as Australia... Andi is an ardent Bodie-ist, so I asked:
Why are you a Bodie-Fan? And how did you come across the programme in the first place?
I first watched the program back when it started, I was around 8-9 years old and my dad was a big fan. He liked all those shows like Minder, Sweeney, Bergerac.
Years later they started running the program again late at night, this was about 1991, I laughed when I first saw it back on again, but then I began waiting for it to come on every night, eventually I became addicted, much to my dads amusement.
My cousin and I started to tape the shows, I was a Bodie fan, she a Doylie. We'd talk, think, dream Professionals. As time went on my cousin stopped watching, but I continued and then eventually found likeminded people through the internet YAH!

A lot of us has a lot to thank the Internet for. :-) Where else could we meet so easily? Think of it! people from Britain, Deutschland, Australia, New-Zealand, Ireland, The Netherlands, France, USA! But back to the Professionals! What attracts you still to the programme?
I think what really attracts me is the whole Bodie/Doyle relationship, and I dare say that's what most people find so endearing about this show. The chemistry between them sparkles, and I love the way they watch out for each other, but at the same time give each other a hard time :)
I think we'd all love a friend like Bodie or Doyle and part of the attraction is watching a couple who are ultimately the perfect partners.
I love their relationship with Cowley, a bit like a father and his sons! and I also have a fascination with any sort of secret police association or spy agency.
I also love London...so thats an attraction too :)
So many things! the cheesy dialogue, the sexism and unPCness, the car squeals, the indiscriminate gunshooting and uncalled for violence yah!! Its great!

:-)) Thats the true Fan speaking. Tell me, what did change through your being
a fan of this show in your real, everyday life? Did/Do you dress like them for
example? Do you use special terms of speech? Things like that?
As far as affecting my life - well when I first discovered them I was addicted!
I counted the hours each day until 11pm when the next episode would come on. I already had a gold car, and my cousin went out and bought a silver car ( yes, so we had one of each). We'd laugh about getting some sort of radio system in the car, and call each other 4.5 and 3.7!
I can't ever remember dressing like them, or pretending to be them, but I do remember using lines from the show in day to day talk with my cousin. I tried to collect a few articles and photos, but never really gathered anything substantial.

Andi, that answer brought tears to my eyes.
You are a Bodie-Fan. If you would have to describe Bodie to a person who don't
know him, what would you say?
Hmmm Id say: He's the epitome of everything manly and sexy!! oooh. I think he's very good looking, those eyes, eyelashes, build, the way he stands with his hands on his hips!!
I love his ribald humour, his cheeky boyish quality, his dark sneering side. I love the way he can be the ultimate tough guy one moment and the youthful lad the next.
I admire his living 'life to the full" attitude, and that he doesnt seem to let things get to him too much!
He is very loyal, looks after his friends, can be considerate (at times) but then again he can say some of the most controversial statements at the worst possible times! ( ie: the half an ear line ;)
I just find him incredibly attractive! I also like to imagine what lies behind the hidden parts of Bodie, which to me, make him an interesting subject. Sometimes people paint him in a very two dimensional way, I like to think of him as having a side that not many people see and that intrigues me :)
I dare say he might be a rotten boyfriend/husband etc! but that's ok, I look for excitement in my fantasy men, not marriage haha!

And the last question: What is your all-time-favorite ep, and why?
This is a very hard question to answer errk! First Night is one, because there are so many great moments between the lads, the bus scene being one! There is some great banter, I love the car scene with Doyle lecturing Bodie on his eating habits.
I quite like Hunter/Hunted, Weekend in the Country (Bodie moments are nice), Mixed Doubles (like the comparison between B/D and the two hired assassins) Backtrack (with Marge!) Takeaway (Bodie doing it rough) and Wild Justice!
Sorry, I know you wanted one, but I just cant do it!!! :)
They all have certain elements about them that I love! One common theme with all my fav Episodes is great Bodie moments, of course! But even so, I love a good Doylie bit as well, Involvement is a nice epsiode!
