| Question: Where can we place Chris through his speech? Answer: Evidence: Consultant: I love Chris's accent - and he's particularly cute when he's using British colloquialisms (like the '10 quid' when he's betting with Sam in Skorpion). I'm not good enough on American regional accents to know if he has the right accent for a Chicago-ite, but as he probably spent time in a lot of different places around the US during his Naval/pilot/SEAL's training, and on his subsequent postings his accent probably changed accordingly. He is obviously familiar with local US accents and terms - like when he's trying to teach Sam to say 'y'all' when they are in Richmond, Va. jw 17. Actually, I only understood after three german sessions, that Chris Keel is an American, because someone said so. I didn't see it. But when you hear them talk in "english", they sound so different. You place them without further thought in different countries. So in our western world, where the usual visual signs of clothes, hairstyle, behaviour have become so much the same, and where one language, english, is as the "worlds" language spoken by so many people, it seems, that the accent gets very important - as the one sign, with which we are able, to place a person... rg 19.
