Question: What about
Fighting?
Answer: 'He
sure can fight' Conroy, the policeman, an ex-Green Beret, in CHOICE CUTS
"He is also an excellent shot with
both a handgun and submachine gun, and can be relied on not to miss the bad
guys in a shoot out. He also has very good reflexes and reaction times."

Evidence: "BACK TO
BUSINESS: railyard scene: shoots the head Mafiosi in the arm, then takes on the
second thug - Sam being occupied with the first.
ORBIT: caravan fight
scene
HOSTAGE: roof scene, when he takes out the two policemen.
SAMURAI WIND: takes out the two bad guys after Malone has dealt with
Dane
MISS HIT: stops Abby
CHOICE CUTS: in the uncut version it
is clear he takes out Conroy with one shot from a prone position
FIRST
STRIKE: gets the first of the two soldiers back at the landing as well as his
share of the others later on at the ambush
HIGH SPEED: takes his share
of the bad guys in the derelict Bosnian building
GLORY DAYS: finishes
off several bad guys on the ship and down behind the
warehouse.
At the end of FIRST STRIKE when
Stryker comes out of the woods and shouts to them he has his gun drawn and has
turned to face the threat ahead of Sam and the deputy (though I'll admit only
marginally!). But later when the gunshot (Stryker shooting himself) sounds, he
has turned towards it before Sam and Backup have registered any reaction."

Comment: A lot
can be said about fighting. It is the ultimative resort, when it comes to a
conflict. And it is - even in our domestized time - always not far away, and
very near the surface: Look in the newspaper, view a short part of todays
tv-programme. And fighting can be more. The Fighting Game, Fighting as Poetry:
"Good action can be like poetry in motion - I love watching Bruce Lee and
Jackie Chan fight sequences." (Susan Morden) When it comes to a "professional"
fighter like Chris, or Sam, more questions come to my mind, which they should
answer...
