Question: What does the way Chris fights say about him? Answer: "Most of the evidence points to Chris preferring a 'man to man' fighting situation (though that doesn't stop him using whatever means necessary to get the job done - including their chopper in Tusk Force!). This re-raises for me the question of his reasons for transferring from naval aviation to the SEAL's - going from a high tech but remote method of warfare where he would never see his targets except as blips on a radar screen to a completely different kind of training, and combat situations more likely to bring about close encounters with the enemy. If, as I have suggested before, he transferred after his wife was killed there might have been an element of needing an outlet for his anger, frustration and guilt - some way of actually seeing the face of the enemy and being able to physically do something about stopping him. His obvious impatience and his inability to sit still for long will often drive him to seek a personal confrontation rather than solving the problem remotely. He is a man of action and doesn't always want to take the time to think things through, preferring to deal with the problem head on. This isn't to say he doesn't have the finesse to handle situations more cautiously if necessary - in Choice Cuts he made a convincing street bum, he was good as a highstakes ivory buyer in Tusk Force, he kept his cool - and his cover story intact! - with Kevin and Spider in Orbit, and he managed several interviews with suspects without resorting to violence! He can also be quite sensitive to the moods of others - like with Sam and Backup in Souvenir - but I'd like a little more time to think about this one." consultant Jill Woolfenden, 28.
