Question: What about Sams work-ethos?
Answer: He is a
Professional.
Evidence: Is on duty, even
in his free time. See: "Hostage"/"Im Namen des Volkes", 17.04.99: Has his
mobile with him, when he is in the gym. Comes immediately without complaint,
works the whole night. Goes to work, even when he is not happy about
it. See: "Orbit"/"Todesstrahlen aus dem All", 12.06.99: Sam and Chris have a
job finished and want a few days off, to see the "Mardi Gras". He telephones
with Spencer. Malone is intervening: New Job! Sam is indeed not happy, can't
Spencer tell Malone something...well, he can't. Sam is muttering - but then
drives to the next airport and the new job.
Comment: This is an interesting little
episode. It shows nicely the difference between saying and doing. Don't we see
everyday, how people say one thing and do the other? This is, why we ask for
evidence, isn't it? We want to know, what someone has done. This is,
what counts, in the end. So Malone can be happy. He has a dutyfull and reliable
Professional here.

Further Question: Do we see more proof of Sams
professionalism?
Answer: Yes.
Evidence: "...if
you want more evidence about Sam Curtis' professionalism - Consider the episode
Orbit. In my book a professional is someone who knows his job and makes it his
business to keep himself informed. When Keel and Curtis and Backup go through
Prof Rickard's diary, Curtis is the one who recognizes the yacht and makes the
connection to Shabadi the arms dealer." (from: expert-witness Susan Morden,
protocolled 29. Januar 2000)
Comment: This witness is a
sharp observer herself. Actually, it gives in my opinion also some background
to "private" Sam Curtis, reading his newspapers, seeing what happens around him
with open eyes.
